Somerset Hills YMCA

The Cultural Engagement Committee is responsible for assisting the Branch Board in advancing diversity and inclusion to ensure all segments of the community have access to and feel welcome at the Y. The committee develops programs and initiatives that drive awareness of and celebrates the diverse fabric of the community served by the Y. Some initiatives have included: organizing the annual MLK Day of Service project, planning activities of engagement with Hispanic Heritage Month, planning and participating in Courageous Conversations that creates a safe space for community to hold discussions, honoring and celebrating Diwali, Holi, Chinese New Year and more. An engaged volunteer will be available for a monthly committee meeting, planning and attending events, helping to convene community and championing the Y.
